Refund and Returns Policy

At Captive Bred Paradise, the health, safety, and well-being of our parrots are our highest priority. As a responsible and ethical parrot breeding and sheltering establishment, we follow strict policies regarding refunds and returns to ensure the welfare of every bird and fairness to our clients. Please read the following policy carefully before making a commitment.

1. Living Animals Policy

Parrots are living, sentient beings and not products. For this reason, we do not operate like a traditional retail business, and our refund and return policy reflects the ethical responsibility involved in placing a bird into a new home.

Once a parrot leaves our care, it is exposed to a new environment, and we cannot guarantee its health or safety if returned. Therefore:

  • No refunds or returns are accepted due to change of mind, personal circumstances, or lifestyle changes.

  • Adopting or purchasing a parrot should be considered a lifelong commitment.

2. Health Guarantee at the Time of Transfer

All parrots from Captive Bred Paradise are carefully monitored and are in good health at the time of handover. Each parrot:

  • Is captive-bred

  • Is properly weaned (if age-appropriate)

  • Is visually examined for health and vitality before transfer

If a licensed avian veterinarian confirms a serious pre-existing health condition within 48 hours of collection or delivery, the following applies:

  • The issue must be documented in writing by the veterinarian

  • The parrot must not have been exposed to other birds or unsafe conditions

  • Captive Bred Paradise must be notified immediately

In such rare cases, we will:

  • Offer a replacement parrot (subject to availability), or

  • Provide a partial or full refund at our discretion, depending on circumstances

Veterinary fees, transport costs, and other related expenses are not refundable.

3. No Returns After Acceptance

Once a parrot has been accepted and taken into the adopter’s care:

  • Returns are not accepted

  • Refunds will not be issued due to:

    • Noise level

    • Behavior

    • Compatibility issues

    • Time constraints

    • Housing or family objections

These factors are part of responsible ownership and should be carefully considered beforehand.

4. Rehoming Support (Exceptional Circumstances)

We understand that extreme and unforeseen situations may arise. While refunds are not provided, Captive Bred Paradise may, at its discretion, offer rehoming assistance under the following conditions:

  • The parrot’s welfare must be the primary concern

  • Ownership history and care standards must be verified

  • Rehoming is not guaranteed and depends on availability and suitability

Any rehoming assistance is considered a support service, not a return or refund.

5. Deposits and Reservations

  • All deposits are non-refundable

  • Deposits secure a specific parrot or future clutch

  • Deposits will not be refunded if the client cancels or fails to collect the parrot within the agreed timeframe

This policy helps us manage responsible placements and ongoing care costs.

6. Transport and Delivery

If transport or delivery is arranged:

  • Captive Bred Paradise is not responsible for delays caused by third-party transport providers

  • Once the parrot is handed over to the transporter, responsibility transfers to the client

  • Refunds are not issued for transport-related stress or delays beyond our control

7. Responsibility of the Adopter

By proceeding with adoption or purchase, the client confirms that they:

  • Understand the long-term commitment involved

  • Have researched parrot care requirements

  • Are prepared to provide proper housing, diet, and veterinary care

  • Accept responsibility for the parrot’s well-being for life

8. Policy Updates

Captive Bred Paradise reserves the right to update or modify this Refund and Returns Policy at any time without prior notice. The most current version will always be available upon request or on our official platforms.

9. Our Ethical Commitment

This policy exists to protect parrots from stress, repeated relocation, and harm. Our priority is not profit, but ethical placement, lifelong welfare, and responsible ownership.

If you have questions or concerns about this policy, we strongly encourage you to discuss them with us before making a commitment.
